I met Lisa Bearnson

Look who I met while I was in St. George over the weekend... none other then Lisa Bearnson in person! I was totally star struck and couldn't hardly think about anything else for at least an hour after that. This was just as we were going into TJ Maxx, she was coming out, I thought that it sounded a lot like her and then when I looked at her I almost didn't say anything at all but then I was like "hey are you Lisa?" and she said "yes I am!" it was so CRAZY!!!

Here Comes The Bride

These were pretty easy to make up, my sister needed one for a shower she was going to so this is what I came up with. The bride was cut from Sweethearts at 3.25 and the die cut is from Elegant Edges cut at 4.40 on my gypsy. Paper is from the Lemon Flower stack by DCWV and the sentiment comes from Pink By Design. Have a great day!

cute "congratulations" with Paper Smoches

I love Kim Hughes stamps from Paper Smooches. They are just way to cute and the fonts are awesome. She has done such a great job designing these. For this card I used the Sentiment Sampler and Smarty Pants
The inks are from Close To My Heart. I just used some different colors and stamped repetitively with the ink. I added a cute cap and then some ribbon attached with a staple. on the inside of the card I used a coordinating color of cardstock and embossed it with the swirls folder and adhered it. I found this card design from Pinterest HERE

Owl baby blanket

I was able to go to Las Vegas last Monday and meet up with my sister while my car was being worked on and spend the day shopping :) what's more fun than that?! Anyway she mentioned that a coworker of hers was having a little girl and she wanted to do something for her so while we were in Hobby Lobby we found this material. My sister had said that the girl was doing an owl themed baby room and this went perfect. She bought the material and I brought it home with me, tied it and finished the edge and took it back to her on Thursday as we were heading up to Utah. I am so grateful I know how to do these things, my mother taught me well! I was also grateful that I was able to help my sister out and I'm glad I don't live to far away from her so we can get together even just for the day.
Also you only have 3 days left to take advantage of the STAMPAGANZA from Close To My Heart... buy 2 stamp sets get 1 stamp set free, ends June 30. Click HERE to go shopping!

Dry Erase Menu Board

I haven't been doing a whole lot of card making lately but I did manage to make this fun dry erase menu board a few weeks ago. We are doing a whole lesson on menu planning for a church activity and I thought this would go along with it really well. I just picked up an inexpensive frame from the dollar store and went through my scrapbook paper to find a print I liked then I printed the weekdays on it and voila it's was ready to be hung up in the kitchen :)

baby girl diaper cake

Here is the girl cake I did. I had a double shower to go to so I made this up for the mom who had the little girl. 10 diapers on top and 40 on the bottom tier. I tied some Pink Sorbet twine from The Twinery around it and finished it off with the cute toys on top!

baby boy diaper cake

I made this for a friend who is having a boy soon. I used 1 package of size 1 diapers, 40 for the bottom tier and 10 for the top tier. I wrapped some cute pea pod paper around with a solid brown underneath and then used some Trendy Twine in Chocolate Sprinkles to finish it off. I just pushed the toys into the top :)

Teacher Gift

I found out that one of my kids teachers loved this stuff so I went out and bought a 4 pack and turned it from drab to fab. I just covered the bottles with some fun paper around the main part and also cut a circle from the same paper for the top as you can see in the last photo. I even had an empty one so I filled it with peanut M&M's and put that in the gift bag as well :) really easy and fast too!

Card class for May- Stella paper pack

Ok here are the cards for the May card class. This uses the Stella paper pack from Close To My Heart as well as the "A Rainbow" "Party Pennants" and "Just For You" stamp sets.  I will give further detail above each card   :)
This card I used "A Rainbow" I stamped the image 3 times with Lagoon, Sunset and Tulip ink, then I cut them apart and used 1 piece of each for the rainbow... this is what you would call "fussy cutting" I also stamped the cloud with black onto Colonial White cardstock and fussy cut it. The die cut image is from the Art Philosophy cartridge cut at 1-3/4 from Olive cardstock and then again on Colonial White. I used a border punch at the bottom of the pattern paper and added some Opaque Pearls to finish it off. The cloud is adhered with foam tape.
This card I used "Party Pennants." I stamped the tag shape 2 times with cocoa ink, once on cocoa and once on sunset cardstock then fussy cut the image out. On the sunset piece I stamped Happy Birthday inside and added some bitty sparkles under the phrase. I also used a border punch on the 3 different pattern papers and stacked them. to finish it off I used some Baker's Twine and a couple of bling buttons.
This final card I used the "Just For You" stamp set as well as the Art Philosophy cartridge and cut the flower shape at 2-1/2. I used a "Rock and Roll" technique with Lagoon and Olive ink for the flower petals. You can find a video on how to do that HERE. I also used a green button and some more bakers twine to finish it off. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Raining Hearts- Baby shower

This was a super easy card to make. I thought I had seen it on Pinterest but now I cant find it, I found it HERE :) if that's where is was... I just used a folk heart punch and punched hearts out of various colors or parchment I hand cut my flags and stamped on them using the Party Pennants stamp set form Close To my heart. The cloud is from A Rainbow, stamped on white cardstock and then hand cut. I hope you like today's card!

Blogger 101 and some cards :)

Here's a little lesson for you... let's call it "Blogger 101" if any of you have followed my blog for a while now know that I use to post pretty regularly, like every week day! Well then we had spring break and I was in charge of the book fair at school and then I went on a little vacation with my husband and in all that time I would try to upload some projects but kept getting the boot from blogger telling me that I had used up all my photo storage space. Well it was really making me mad so then I just kinda got sick of it and quit trying until I finally asked the right person and she was able to  help me a TON!!! So I don't know who all knows this but here we go...

Blogger uses Picasa to store all the photos you upload. You are allowed 1 GB per blog and once you go over that storage then you have to pay per month for more storage UNLESS you are uploading the right size pictures. I, my friends, was NOT doing that! My pictures were HUGE and by huge I mean HUMUNGOUS! If you upload pictures that are less then 2048 x 2048 and videos that are less then 15 minutes then they don't count towards your 1 GB storage space but if they are bigger then that (like mine were) you will meet that and not be allowed to upload more unless you figure it out like I did or cave in a pay the per month fee, which I was not going to do. So with that being said, make sure you know how to re size your pictures before uploading and you will NOT have the headache I had and all will be fine in bloggy land! ;) now onto the cards...

I made this set of six cards a while back, they were super easy. I had just bought some stamps from Paper Smooches and LOVE them! I used "sentiment sampler" :) I used Art Philosophy to cut the scalloped squares at 2 inches (I think) and then a little smaller at 1-3/4 on the cream cardstock to fit inside. The paper is from the Recollections "Charming" stack

Teal/Brown/Green set of cards

These cards were so simple but I think they also pack a big punch. I started off with some pretty pattern cardstock from the Charming stack by Recollections. I rounded the bottom corners on both the blue and the white card and adhered them together. The tag was cut at 2-1/2 from Art Philosophy and can I just say that if you dont have this cartridge yet your really missing out. It has some really great cuts on it plus Close To My Heart is making stamp sets that go with it, super cool! to order it from me just click on Art Philosophy :) Anyway back to the card... the sentiments are from Paper Smooches "word salad" and I just love the font Kim uses... super duper cute! I used foam tape to adhere the scallop circle and finished it off with some Honeydew twine from The Twinery :)

Happy 40th Anniversary

This was a special request card I had last week. Some friends of a friend were celebrating their 40th anniversary and my friend wanted a very specific card for them that included their names and 40 on it so this is what I came up with... I LOVE the Lemon Flower stack from Die Cuts With a View so much in fact that after I had used just a few sheets out of the stack I decided I NEEDED another stack :) just flipping through it makes me happy! So anyway back to the card... I printed off their names on some white cardstock and cut it into the flag shape that's so popular right now, I added some opaques pearls to the one side and adhered it on with Scotch Quick Drying tacky glue. It's bubbled up on the middle but I didn't get a good picture of that part.
I cut the tag at 2 inches and 40 at 1-1/2 inches from Songbird. I embossed the top part of the white cardstock with the dots folder and used the apron lace border punch at the bottom of the green. I tied some Buttercream twine from The Twinery around and adhered that part to my card. The tag was adhered with foam tape and then I stamped Happy Anniversary with My Pink Stamper stamps and added a couple more opaques pearls to finish it off.

Without a little rain...

I made this cute little card with the Stella paper pack from close to my heart. I also used the stamp set called A Rainbow and the Art Philosophy cartridge for the stamp in the corner cut at 1-3/4. I added a border and some opaque pearls to finish it off. For the rainbow I stamped it with 3 different colors (Lagoon, Sunset and Tulip) and then paper pieced them together. The cloud is stamped on Colonial White cardstock and then hand cut out and adhered with foam tape. I am entering this card into the Fatabulous Cricut Challenge blog and also My Craft Spot

Fun set of cards

I love how this set of cards turned out. It just seems to say "Hello Spring" every time I look at them! If you can believe it or not there is NO cricut cut on these cuties. I used a stack from My Minds Eye called "Where The Heart Is" and layered a lot. The stems of the flowers are from a set called "Forever In Love" by CTMH. I added some prima flowers and little tiny beads in silver to the centers of the flowers. For the border I used "Apron Lace" from Fiskers and then I added some Grape Fizz twine from Trendy Twine :)

Quilt card

I love Pinterest... have I said that lately?! It's amazing and full of really great ideas not only for crafters but for recipe lovers, organizers, sewers and everyone in between. I saw THIS card a couple weeks ago (it's the second one down in the post) and knew I had to re create it. I went to her blog and tried to find a more direct link but I couldn't find one. I used a Recollections paper pad called "Charming" and cut all my squares at 1-1/2 then I used some pretty Papertrey Ink ribbon and cut a fun tag from Art Philosophy at 1-1/4. The stamps are called Say It In Style from Close To My Heart and so are the pearls.
To adhere the ribbon, I put adhesive across the whole back with the ATG gun and then I stuck down the edges where I wanted them, then I pressed down the middle and then pressed from the middle to the outer edge to make my little "buckle" in the ribbon. The tag was adhered with some foam tape.

Lemonade 5 cents sign

Well I'm back... after trying to get this post up all week and getting that dang message about being out of space, blogger finally let me upload a picture. I never did pay for more picture storage so I dont know what's up with that but I do know that I'm able to do it now and I'm super happy! (we'll see what happens on the next post)

Anyway, I saw this super cute sign HERE on pinterest this past fall and I ran right out and bought a picket fence post to make it and then the wood sat here... through Halloween.... and Thanksgiving.... and Christmas.... and Valentine's... and here it is almost Easter and I finally got the dang thing finished! I used Don Juan and Lyrical Letters. I sanded my wood first then I painted it Canary Yellow from Plaid. After that had 2 coats on it I cut my letters and used Mod Modge to get them on, then I used some black paint from Plaid and dry brushed the edges.

L, o, n, e, were cut at 3 inches with the under pressure font
e and a were cut at 3 inches with the regular font
5 was cut at 3 inches and the "cents" sign was cut at 2-3/4.
M was cut at 3-1/2 and D was cut at 3-1/4 from Lyrical Letters with the Jumbo font

having trouble...

well I went to post a new project for you today and blogger wont let me, I keep getting this dumb message that reads...

Whoops! You're out of space. Purchase more storage.
Photos are stored in your Picasa Web Albums account and are included in your 1 GB free quota for photos. Additional storage you purchase is shared between several Google products and is in addition to your free quota. Learn more

It's really irritating and I dont know how to get around it, I'm not paying for space on a free blog so I guess this little blog of mine might have to start over. If anyone has any tips on what to do I'm all ears! :)

bright and fun set of cards

I actually got some cards made... I know it's been a while. We had spring break a couple weeks ago and then I have just been lazy and doing other stuff, I have had ideas just not a lot of time to get them on paper. So this week I finally pulled out some new paper I got, these are from Hobby Lobby and My Minds Eye... "Deena's Penny Lane" and "Where the Heart is" stacks. I also used Mini Monograms and CTMH Art Philosophy cartridges. Lots of extras on these like the Making Memories anchor tab, Prima flowers, miscellaneous buttons, adhesive jewels and I cant forget the fun Twine. The scallop and square were cut at 3-1/2 and the tag from AP was cut at 1-1/4, stamps are CTMH sets called "Just For You" and "Party Pennants"
This square was cut at 4
