Fantabulous Cricut #19- Christmas in July

Hi everyone, back with another card for the Fantabulous Cricut, our theme this week was Christmas in July and what better cartridge to use the Christmas Cheer? Plus I just got this one with my Cricut rewards and really wanted to use it :) my words are cut at 3 inches on green Bazzill, I used my cuttlebug with the snowflakes folder and some glimmer mist called cranberry zing.

Cutting Diagram for Purse Card Holder

A few weeks ago I had a comment on THIS blog post about measurements for the bag, well I finally got around to drawing them up AND taking a picture of it. I have to say again that this is not my idea, I found it while going through some old Papercrafts magazines, this idea is out of the March 2006 by Laurie Singelyn the finished size of the bag is 6 x 4.25 x 2, the cards are standard A2. Start with an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock, you will need to score on the yellow dash lines and cut on the green solid lines. The orange area is where the Accent paper should be adhered. You will also need 2 lengths of ribbon about 17 inches each. HERE are a couple more examples I made as well.

Fantabulous Cricut #18- Cool Treats

This weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut was to make a "cool treat" shaped card. It had to be something fun for summer so I went with the Popsicle from Doodlecharms cut at 5-1/4 and using my Gypsy I welded 2 of the blackout shapes together. Then with my fun DCWV paper (Sweets stack) I cut the top layer out. I didn't want the little cutouts on the left side so I used the hide contour button and took those out. I also used Mini Monograms and cut a circle and scalloped circle at 1-3/4. My stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps Everyday-Jargone set.
I used some crystal effects from Stampin Up on this one, added some sparkle fibers and used pop dots to adhere. I also inked around the Popsicle and the white circle with scarlet ink and chalked around the green scalloped circle.
This one I left the way it was for a cute but simple card.Go check it out and enter to win this weeks giveaways! :)

Firecracker Decorations

Hi Everyone, I made these a couple weeks ago and didn't get to share them with you before I left. I used the Stand and Salute cartridge and cut freedom out at 1-1/2 and USA at 1-3/4 on white vinyl. My wood is just a 2x2 cut at 4, 6, and 8 inches. After I had them all painted I used a drill bit to make a small hole in the top and then hot glued some twine in for the fuse. I also hot glued the blocks to each other so they wouldn't fall out of the twine I tied them together with... hope you enjoy this project, if you give it a try leave a link. Some of them I just painted and didn't add any vinyl. I will actually be having a class on these tomorrow night at the church!
Thanks for the great project Rachel :)

wondering what I have been doing.... 200 wedding announcements!

Well this is why I haven't posted much lately. I was trying so hard to get these done before I left town and then I was gone for 10 days. I used Cajan Bazzill for the bottom layer (that's where all the info is printed) then the top is Yam Bazzill with their picture tied on with some burnt orange ribbon. Pretty simple but when your making 200 it's a lot of work... but well worth it. She loved how they turned out and I wish them all the best :) Here they are all ready to be sent out!

Freedom Banner

Ok girls this project was one I made for a design team call but I didn't make it so I'll share it with you today...
This is what I did to make it and the cartridges I used...

*Everyday Paperdolls~ I cut the kids at 11-1/2 as well as the clothes. For the boy I added some Making Memories button brads to his shirt, I used a brown marker to highlight his hair and a white gel pen to all the places where there were cuts made. For the girl I used the brown marker for her hair as well and a white gel pen on her bow, bandanna, shoes, shirt and shorts. They both have a sparkler in their hand and wiggly eyes!
*Stand and Salute~ I cut the sparkler at 3-1/2 on some white pearl shine paper. Then I cut a shadow for each to correspond with their outfits. I also added some red stickles to the center of his and some blue glitter to the center of hers.
*Opposites Attract~ I cut all my letters at 4-1/2 using the opposite (pearl shine paper) and the opposite shadow (red cardstock) features.
*George and Basic Shapes~ I cut my stars at 4-1/2 and then embossed them using the cuttlebug and the D'vine Swirls folder.

I used some chipboard I had in my stash and cut it to 5-1/2 x 4-1/4, all my pattern paper is from the DCWV summer stack from 2008. The red, black and pearl shine (white for letters) is all from Provocraft. The brown and light blue (shorts) textured paper is Bazzill. I punched some holes with a hole punch and threaded some white fiber ribbon through to tie the letters together, then I tied the sign to their hands to make it look like they are holding it up. :) If you would like to see some of my other banners I have made for different holidays click HERE, HERE and HERE!

Also some other fantastic news, I just found out yesterday when I got home that I DID make the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Design Team. I was super happy so not making the other one didn't seem so bad anymore. You should check out their blog when you get a chance, Robin usually has some great prizes to giveaway and this weeks challenge should be lots of fun, you need to create something with a creepy crawly and use orange on your project!
