Thank-you sewed up!

These are an oldie but goodie, a few years ago I made these for my Christmas card, I just found the book again the other day so I HAD to make them again, only this time some "thank yous." I sewed the stripped sections on with some green thread and a zig-zag stitch.Sorry this picture is a bit blurry but I had to show the fun sparkly glitter paper :)

More Christmas Cards

So since I got a bit carried away with cutting out paper for my mom in laws cards, I realized that I cut WAY TOO MUCH! I couldn't just throw all of it away... I made more cards, sewing and all. I ended up putting different things on the front then what I made for her. This one here is a photo mount, I inked the edges and added some little snowflakes from a small set I have, then I traced the circle and cut it a little bigger so I had an edge to glue onto the photo mount. I then used another circle punch and another stamp set to get the inside image. I adhered that with a pop dot. I also stamped Merry Christmas on these but I guess I took the picture before I had decided on that. these were the easiest by a long shot, added some ribbon that already had Merry Christmas on it and a big snowflake on some, the others I stamped Merry Christmas on them.
This is where the snowflakes came from on the cards above. These ornaments are from Joys of the Season cut at 3 1/4 maybe?

Thankful Letters

I have had these letters for about 8 months, I had this idea last year but couldn't find the letters at a decent price so I waited until they were on sale and I could get them. I finally got around to putting some paper on them last Saturday and some buttons! I think they turned out pretty good. Scroll down for some close up pictures.

I'm off to my sisters house to see NEW MOON and have a fun weekend! :)

Christmas Cards for mom in law

Here they are, the card for this year I came up with to mass produce for my mother in law. I really wanted to do the rounded corners at the bottom and I'm really glad I did, I think it added so much to the card. Also the sewing, I was going to skip that since I was making so many but I'm glad I decided to go with it even if it was extra work and took about an hour. I cut the ornament from Joys of the Season at 3 1/2 (I got 11 per 12x12 page) then before I removed them from the mat I took my gold pen and colored in the top and outlined the edge. I also took a flourish stamp and did just the bottom left corner with Bamboo ink from Close to my Heart. Then using a scripture she liked I stamped that in black. I sewed the gold ribbon on while I went around the edge of the card and then added another piece to tie on the ornament.

Look Who's Turning 50... Bday invites

I helped a friend make about 30 of these a week ago. They were super simple. We cut an 8 1/2 x 11 paper into thirds so they could fit nicely in an envelope for the ones she needed to mail. I printed all the "look" "who's" "50" on white cardstock from my printer then used a circle punch to cut them out. Then I used the Cricut and cut red circles for a shadow a bit bigger then the white circles. added some pattern paper and some fun black ribbon and stamped "you're invited" with red ink. She s going to print all the info and stick it on the back.

Wedding Gift Card Holder

This is such a great idea if your short on time. I used the same idea as the Pebbles Inc. paper cards down below, then I cut a tag at 4 1/4 (or big enough to hold the gift card and still fit in the card) added some ribbon and a couple sentiments and I was done.
Here is a view of the tag and card separate.

Christmas Cards with Pebbles Inc. paper

These are really fun to make. Start with a 12x12 paper, cut 1 inch from one side making it 12x11, then along the 12 inch side cut into 3 pieces at 4 inches making them 11x4. Make sense? then fold the paper in half making it 4x5 1/2. Then take the top and fold it back down at whatever length you want the flap to be mine is at 1 1/2 I think. I used a little Pebbles Inc. pad that my friend gave me for my birthday (thanks Savannah) and finished them off with some ribbon and then adhered a die cut sticker that was included with the pad on with a pop dot. I also finished it off with some pretty oval pearls from Martha Stewart, courtesy of Big Lots that I found a couple months ago. Click on the picture to enlarge it... Just as a side note, I wrapped my ribbon around 2 layers here, the flap and the middle. You could easily wrap it all the way around for a "pocket" card or you could just wrap it around the 1 1/2 in flap for a tri-fold looking card. This part will fall open from the tree paper down.
This is a card I made with the scraps left over from the cards above, I love using every last piece of scrap when I have to cut some off. The tree trunk is from the 1 inch piece left on the 11x12 paper all the rest is what I had to cut from my little pad so the pieces would fit on the cards above. I used my folk star paper punch and some DCWV glitter paper for the star and adhered it with a pop dot. Stamped Merry Christmas with a Unity stamp set and the snowman is from CTMH- O Christmas Tree set. I thought about adding some jewels for ornaments but didn't do it.. yet!

4 Square Scallop

I just wanted to show the versatility of a Sketch, the original idea of this was actually a baby card with a lion, elephant, tiger and monkey in the squares and although I liked the idea of the sketch I wasn't crazy about the animals but who knows that could change. Anyway I decided to go with this fall themed card and I had the perfect stamps to fit right inside the scalloped squares. I used Mini Monograms to cut them at 1 1/4 then I shadowed them with the orange color (marigold from Bazzill) at 1 3/4, I used some patterned paper from the DCWV Rustic stack, brown is chocolate from CTMH. I used my scallops and dots border punch from Martha Stewart to add a fun edge and finished it off with some yellow/gold ribbon from Michael's. I love how these turned out, so much so that I made more...This one I switched the paper and the stamp set and used some sheer pink ribbon. This one I switched the stamp set.

Cute Halloween Gift Idea

Aren't these fun? When I saw this I knew I had to try it. I found the idea HERE but didn't want to pay for the supplies since I have enough already! I used my Storybook cartridge for the base (marquee) everything else is from punches. This one and the Dracula below I used George and Basic shapes for the circles, triangles and rectangle.I actually cut a square in black at 2 and then cut it in half with my scissors for triangles, teeth are hand cut.

Boy Cards, I got the sewing machine out for these...

I love this card idea with the card itself opening up towards the top instead of the traditional right to left. I also love the bottom corners rounded. Cartridges I used are New Arrival and I don't have exact sizes on the tag I think it may be a 2 or somewhere around there. I used 2 sheets of patterned paper and ended up with 13 cards, 6 of each of these and the one below. I also sewed around the edges and added some pretty monochromatic blue ribbon. I stuck the tags on with pop dots and then tied the ribbon on.
I made this one with the left over scrapes of paper :)

More Cupcake cards

These might need some ribbon on the side, they look a little plain... anyway here they are, made 36 of these last week, I made sure to cut everything and have my piles ready BEFORE I started assembling them it made it go a lot faster that way. Paper is DCWV and stamp set is from Stampendous called "hey there cupcake"

Baby/Kid cards

These were pretty fun, I used my new stamp set from CTMH called family ties children, then colored the image in with my water brush and ink pads. I used Storybook cartridge for the marquee cut the white one at 2 1/4 and the green one at 2 1/2 and Alphalicious for the oval I just cut the size that fit my sentiment. Paper is an old Provocraft stack from about 5 years ago.

Tea Bag Folded Flowers

Again super easy cards, a little time consuming but worth it in the end. These are tea bag folded flowers. start with a 1 1/4 square and cut in half diagonally. I added ric rac for the steam and sewed around the edge for an added dimension. I also stamped a sentiment and hand cut around them adding them on with a pop dot. The button in the middle has some waxy flax in the middle as well.

Easy Thanks cards

I made these a couple weeks ago, really easy. This is actually a pre-made card that had "thanks" already on it but I thought I would spice it up a bit :) I added some felt border that I have had for almost a year and just couldn't figure out what exactly to do with it, then I added some jewels and a new "thanks" I love the bold black with the colorful background.

Google eyes on June.
Cut the strawberry and cherries from glitter paper.

Added a red sparkly nose with stickles and some gems for the ornaments on the tree.
