Stampin' Up! has finally caught on...

If you can believe it or not Stampin' Up! has finally caught on to the clear stamp block movement. They will be releasing their new line of stamps in January along with the acrylic blocks. They will still be rubber stamps but you will be able to use the clear blocks which will make it easier for positioning the stamps to where you want them on your design. Go check this link HERE for a great video tutorial and some more explanation on the new release coming in JANUARY!

Birthday invite and a cute Paper Backpack!

This was what my darling daughter wanted on for her birthday invites a couple weeks ago. She decided on the snowman from the new Snowfriends cartridge from Provocraft. We cut her all out and then added some sparkle fibers to the top of her hat for fun. She then added hand drawn snowflakes all by herself. This was a fun backpack I made up for the craft fair, actually I made 4 of them. They are fun for the holiday and easily hold a gift card or other little goodies :)

Close to My Heart Birthday card kit

This was a Close to My Heart kit I got free a couple months ago. I decided I needed to use it, here are the finished cards. This kit included, a stamp set, cards and envelopes, 2 sheets of 3 different pattern papers and 1 sheet each of 3 different colors of cardstock, 2 small ink pads, all the brads and ribbons that you see. All I had to do was cut, stamp, and put them together.

Craft Fair Goodies

After seeing something similar on Inking Idaho's blog, I had to copy her again. I thought it was a great idea to have a little something sweet to give away so I made these up real quick. I used a Stampin Up set called "Circle of Friendship" and of course my Cricut. Mini Monograms scalloped circle and regular circle cut at 1 3/4. This picture is bad but I tried...

Stocking Gift Card/Money Holders

Made this fun little stocking with the new seasonal cartridge from Provocraft called "Very Merry Tags" cut it at 7 1/4 so it was big enough for the card to fit in but sadly it wont fit in an A2 envelope. Papers used are Die Cuts With a View the Christmas Glitter Stack from 08 and then cardstock in Red #1. I also cut another "back" stocking out of white cardstock so that's what the GC slides down between. (cut 3 total, 1 white back, 1 glitter paper middle, 1 red top) hand stitched with a white gel pen around the edge and added some fun snowflake ribbon. You could use this as an ornament.
With the GC all the way down...This one is a money holder cut from Christmas Cheer at 7, the $$ slides down between the green top part and the red back part.

Reindeer Snowflake card

Isn't this the cutest?! This is from one of the new holiday released Cricut cartridges from Provocraft called "When it's Cold Outside." It has some really cute images on it as well as some 3-D snowflakes you can make. I cut this one at 4 1/4, inked it up with chocolate ink, added some red stickles to the noses and a big star gem in the middle. I also added a sentiment and some red stickles around that and popped it up with a pop dot. So fun and really easy, I let the Cricut do most of the work for me!

Thank-you sewed up!

These are an oldie but goodie, a few years ago I made these for my Christmas card, I just found the book again the other day so I HAD to make them again, only this time some "thank yous." I sewed the stripped sections on with some green thread and a zig-zag stitch.Sorry this picture is a bit blurry but I had to show the fun sparkly glitter paper :)

More Christmas Cards

So since I got a bit carried away with cutting out paper for my mom in laws cards, I realized that I cut WAY TOO MUCH! I couldn't just throw all of it away... I made more cards, sewing and all. I ended up putting different things on the front then what I made for her. This one here is a photo mount, I inked the edges and added some little snowflakes from a small set I have, then I traced the circle and cut it a little bigger so I had an edge to glue onto the photo mount. I then used another circle punch and another stamp set to get the inside image. I adhered that with a pop dot. I also stamped Merry Christmas on these but I guess I took the picture before I had decided on that. these were the easiest by a long shot, added some ribbon that already had Merry Christmas on it and a big snowflake on some, the others I stamped Merry Christmas on them.
This is where the snowflakes came from on the cards above. These ornaments are from Joys of the Season cut at 3 1/4 maybe?

Thankful Letters

I have had these letters for about 8 months, I had this idea last year but couldn't find the letters at a decent price so I waited until they were on sale and I could get them. I finally got around to putting some paper on them last Saturday and some buttons! I think they turned out pretty good. Scroll down for some close up pictures.

I'm off to my sisters house to see NEW MOON and have a fun weekend! :)

Christmas Cards for mom in law

Here they are, the card for this year I came up with to mass produce for my mother in law. I really wanted to do the rounded corners at the bottom and I'm really glad I did, I think it added so much to the card. Also the sewing, I was going to skip that since I was making so many but I'm glad I decided to go with it even if it was extra work and took about an hour. I cut the ornament from Joys of the Season at 3 1/2 (I got 11 per 12x12 page) then before I removed them from the mat I took my gold pen and colored in the top and outlined the edge. I also took a flourish stamp and did just the bottom left corner with Bamboo ink from Close to my Heart. Then using a scripture she liked I stamped that in black. I sewed the gold ribbon on while I went around the edge of the card and then added another piece to tie on the ornament.
