Submission Challenge Blog Post

This was really a lot of fun, even though things have been really busy around here I managed to get this done in just a short amount of time. 1st I made a fun "milk carton caddy." I stamped a flourish design on all the papers throughout to match. I decided to go with SHEETLOAD'S August 2008 issue for a challenge (and I didn't get to use it back when it came out.) Then using my CRICUT and Plantin Schoolbook I cut some letters I needed for inside my squares. As always click on any of the pictures to enlarge them!

Here is my mom's mother's day card and also a pretty good trick, don't know if I should give it away ha-ha, just kidding... so I wanted "happy mother's day" obviously but I didn't have a stamp that said that, but I did have a stamp that said "happy father's day" so I inked up my HFD stamp and removed the "FA" from it and stamped, then with a "mom" stamp that I did have, I inked it up and removed the "m" at the end and stamped it in place, its a little crooked but its handmade :) All my flowers and letters where attached with pop dots. This "HI" card has the same technique I used for the milk cartons, I inked the flourish with white and stamped on the blue, then on the yellow I inked with blue (same flourish stamp)A really easy "thanks" card, super simple and pretty tooHere is my milk carton set in all its glory. You can find the tutorial on Inking Idaho's blog. I ended up cutting the flower on Plantin SchoolBook and then tied it on top with ribbon and a cute pink button for the center. There is a fun trick with these cartons so that you don't have to tear open the top to get into it..... scroll down to find out how :)
up close cartonhere's the trick, there is a little flap at the bottom so the recipient can take the goodies out without damaging the cute boxes, then you just push it back in the slot and its all closed up :)
